To know the principles of the Kingdom that is always the opposite of the worlds’.
To live by the said Kingdom principles so as to be impactful.
CONTENT
The Kingdom of Heaven vs. The Kingdom of the World.
- “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:9). God’s ways don’t work the way the world does. His ways are higher and His wisdom often goes beyond human understanding. What seems foolish to the world often makes perfect sense to God. While the world values pride, power, and success, God values humility, obedience, and love that serves others.
- The Kingdom of Heaven reflects the life and heart of Jesus. It calls us to love, serve others, submit to God’s will, and return evil with good. In contrast, the kingdom of the world follows “an eye for an eye,” driven by pride and selfishness. Our culture often celebrates what God calls wrong, and our sinful nature makes it hard to live differently. Yet when we let His Word fills and shapes us, we find strength to live by His truth.
Inner Character vs. Outer Achievements
- “But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.’” (1 Samuel 16:7 ESV). This verse reminds us that people often celebrate what is visible (wealth, beauty, social status), but God looks deeper into the heart.
- In God’s Kingdom, outward success holds no value apart from inner righteousness. Jesus blesses those whose hearts reflect His nature, as written in Matthew 5: choosing meekness over pride, mercy over judgment, and purity of heart over worldly gain. Lasting impact isn’t measured by what we gain but by how we live with humility, mercy, and righteousness, the very qualities Jesus honors.
Future Reward vs. Immediate Reward
- The world values comfort and recognition in the present, but Jesus calls us to endure with faith even when the path feels difficult. The Beatitudes remind us that true blessing is often unseen, promised to those who remain steadfast through trials. Our temporary struggles point us toward an eternal joy that far outweighs the hardships of this life.
- The promises of the Beatitudes shift our focus from what is immediate to what is eternal, the Kingdom of Heaven. Those who choose righteousness, mercy, and perseverance may not see reward now, but Jesus assures us that great is their reward in heaven (Matthew 5:12). This hope gives purpose to our endurance and strengthens our hearts in His eternal promise.
CONCLUSION
Three things about the Beatitudes are that they are different values than the worlds’, they are about our inner character and these virtues are guaranteeing future and eternal reward. The Beatitudes reveal the heart of the Kingdom and call us to live by values that stand in contrast to the world’s. Jesus not only taught these principles but lived them through humility, mercy, and obedience, even in the midst of suffering. His life reminds us that true impact comes from living differently, grounded in God’s truth rather than the world’s approval. Though following these Kingdom ways may feel uncomfortable or costly, our perseverance is never in vain, for great is the reward that awaits those who remain faithful to Him.
