W4 | Be A Peacemaker

REFERENCE BIBLE VERSES

Matthew 5:9 |Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. (NIV)

OBJECTIVE

Monthly Theme: Excellence in Relationship

  • To understand that excellence in relationships is not about avoiding problems but about being brave enough to address them with God’s love. Jesus calls us to be peacemakers, not just peacekeepers.
  • Peacekeepers avoid conflict at all costs. They stay quiet, pretend nothing is wrong, and hope the tension disappears.
  • Peacemakers step into conflict with wisdom and courage, bringing God’s truth, restoring relationships, and creating lasting peace.

CONTENT

THE STORY OF ABIGAIL IN 1 SAMUEL 25

Conflict is unavoidable in relationships—whether in families, workplaces, friendships, or even in church. How do we respond when conflicts come? In 1 Samuel 25, Abigail shows us that peacemakers are not passive people who simply avoid conflict, but those who actively step in with wisdom and humility, and seek reconciliation instead of victory when conflicts arise.

PEACEMAKERS ACT WITH WISDOM AND HUMILITY

PEACEMAKERS SEEK RECONCILIATION, NOT VICTORY

CONCLUSION

In our daily lives, being a peacemaker is not easy. In our relationships, we should not just be peacekeepers who just want to prevent a fight, but we should be people who step in with wisdom, humility, and a heart for reconciliation when there are conflicts. When we choose this path, we reflect the heart of Christ, the greatest Peacemaker, who reconciled us to God through the cross.
